For the majority of these remote rural Himalayans, healthcare services, even if available, are often out of the reach of many of the poorer people due to travel requirements to Kathmandu and the cost this involves. The vast district, with over 50,000 inhabitants (1,434sq km) has not even had a medical doctor in the past.

In 2011 Jibajibe Rural Hospital was built and is the major health care facility for the remote people of Rasuwa and this provides much needed basic healthcare facilities to our remote people. Our other remote healthcare centres provide extremely basic forms of healthcare.

In 2024 Arukharka Health Centre was completed by HHCP Nepal, and funded by Rainbow of Hope for Children Society, Alberta Canada.

This centre is now providing skilled staff and affordable healthcare services to these remote communities.

Although all our healthcare facilities are staffed, and Jibajibe Hospital and Arukharka Health Centre may look great externally, they are in dire need of even the most basic medical facilities with most rooms sitting devoid of any equipment. Only containing very basic medical supplies as HHCP Nepal is able to fund.  In fact all of our health posts are in the same position.

The Nepali Government funds all the medical staff throughout our hospital and healthcare centres, although more staffing is needed. The government also has no further funding available for any furnishings and extremely limited funding for any medical supplies or equipment needed to facilitate a functional hospital and rural healthcare centres.

In the past HHCP Nepal has fundraised with international donors to provide Jibajibe Hospital with an x-ray machine, ultra-sound machine, birthing facilities (funded by Inner Wheel of Australia Inner West) and other basic equipment.

Recently we have been given ongoing support by St John Ambulance,Queensland for ongoing first-aid supplies. This is a blessing and we will continue to organise transportation of  these first-aid supplies from Australia as friends visit Nepal.
